You may often hear of crazy Japanese festivals, but the rest of Asia also has some pretty fantastic festivals as well.
The Boryeong Mud Festival is coming up next month and it puts any mud wrestling event you have ever seen to shame.
This mud festival was originally started in 1998 to promote and celebrate cosmetic products being made with mud from the Boryeong mud flats, and also to attract visitors to the area.
This mud is high in germanium and bentonite which is said to provide significant health benefits.
Millions of people come to Daecheon Swimming Beach to enjoy the muddy festivities.
There are plenty of fun, dirty events that people can participate in like slides and mud fights.
It will be rare to see a clean piece of clothing here!
The festival takes place over a ten-day period. This year between July 17 – July 26 festival goers will be able to splash and play to their heart’s content.
If you plan on attending, dress appropriately and let the mud fly.
