Did you know that hair dyes, which are used by millions of women in the world, contain harmful chemicals linked to cancer appearance? A recent study, conducted by British scientists, has confirmed that. The British scientists said that both home hair coloring kits and dyes used at expensive salons pose a potential risk to health.
Their study was published in a respected scientific journal. The British scientists also said that chemicals in permanent hair dyes can react with cigarettes smoke and other chemicals in the air. They can form the most powerful cancer causing compound known to man.
One in every three women dyes her hair, and one in ten men regularly colors their hair. So, the British researchers said that it’s imperative that the risk to health is multiplied. But, the cosmetics industry declines that and said that this is not true.
Well, this warning comes from British scientists at the Leeds based company – “Green chemicals”, who conducted a review of the chemistry surrounding hair dye. The British scientists said that all the info was already there and all they did was simply “joined the dots” and found the connection with cancer. These scientists warn that chemicals called secondary amines, which are often found in all permanent hair dyes or are formed in them, can penetrate the human skin and stay on the hair for several weeks, months or even years after the dye is applied. So, the scientists found that these secondary amines can react with cigarette smoke and exhaust fumes, and form highly poisonous chemicals called – N-nitrosamines.
The Leeds researchers said that they can still be generated with a simple chemical reaction. We can also mention that hair dye has previously related to a range of cancer, including tumors of the breast, brain, bladder and even leukemia. Many different studies have confirmed that these compounds also increase the number of people allergic to their contents, sometimes even with fatal results.
How to use coffee to dye your hair
If you use this all natural coffee hair mixture, you will make your hair shiny, strong and even promote hair growth. A recent study, published in the January issue of the International Journal of Dermatology, researchers have found that coffee indeed helps with hair growth. Here’s how to use coffee to dye your hair:
- First, you need to make really strong organic coffee, preferably espresso. This is because non organic coffee most likely contains some added chemicals.
- When you make the coffee, let it sit until it’s cooled.
- Then, mix 2 cups of leave in all natural conditioner, with 2 tablespoons of organic coffee grounds and 1 cup of cold brewed coffee.
- You need to apply this coffee mixture on your hair and leave it for one hour. Your hair will get a beautiful chocolate color without any damage.
Simple Coffee Rinse
First, make sure you shampoo your hair. Then you need to pour coffee over your hair. Leave it like that for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, use apple cider vinegar to wash off the coffee out of your hair (it will help seal in the color as well). When you are done with that, wash your hair with warm water. If you don’t notice the desired results immediately, you need to repeat this process for a few days. It will allow the coffee to penetrate the stands of your hair.
